GOING PLACES
As news of work done
in Millennium Mams, Kolkata spread to other cities requests for conducting these
classes kept pouring in - especially from Delhi. So the Directors
decided to conduct a short and intensive course over weekends in October
2005.

THE
DELHI WING |
THE
COURSE
The course was compressed into 16
sessions over a
period of two and a half months.
The students were asked to start
reading a financial newspaper to get acquainted with
common terms. Then they moved
onto understanding
macro-economy, industries,
investment trends, government policies,
global trends and their impact,
accountancy procedures, balance sheets,
budget
and the like.
THE CLASS
The students are
housewives who want to learn about finance,
economy and other related topics.
CLASS PATTERN
The class is divided into groups
and the students
meet regularly to discuss what
has been taught in class. This
enables them to help each other
understand the subject better
and to clarify
doubts.
UNIQUE FEATURE: A student once and a student for life!
In addition, there is a follow up series of classes conducted after a
gap of around 3 months. This follow up session builds on concepts taught during the two and a half month course. Again the fundamental precept of “once a
student always a student ".
CLASS ACTIVITIES
Each capsule ends with presentations made by the students. Some of
the topics included so far have been Dollar vs other currencies of
the world, oil shock, team Manmohan Singh, 8 % GDP Growth, Warren
Buffet.
STUDENT SPEAK:
“Though the leap from ‘Delhi Times’ to ‘Economic Times’ has been
arduous, we have survived” – says one of the Mams at Delhi.
